Spring (March – May)

  • Temperatures: Highs climb from 69°F in March to 81°F in May; lows range from 51°F to 64°F. 
  • Conditions: Pleasant and warm, with increasing sunshine. The humidity is moderate. 
  • Precipitation: Generally lighter than in summer, especially in May, about 3 inches of rain. 

Spring in Fort Walton Beach is sensational. You will love all the fun that this season has to offer.

Summer (June – August)

  • Temperatures: Hot and humid. Highs average from 86 to 89°F, lows from 72 to 74°F. July and August are the hottest months. 
  • Conditions: Muggy and often oppressive; frequent afternoon thunderstorms. 
  • Precipitation: Wettest period, especially July, with about 7 inches of rain. 

Fall (September – November)

  • Temperatures: Highs drop from 87°F in September to 71°F in November; lows from 70°F to 48°F. 
  • Conditions: Comfortable and less humid; great for outdoor activities. 
  • Precipitation: Rain tapers off after September, averaging 3–4 inches monthly. 

Winter (December – February)

  • Temperatures: Average highs range from 61°F to 65°F, lows from 38°F to 45°F. January is the coldest month. 
  • Conditions: Mild but can feel cool, especially at night. Occasional rain; winter is relatively short. 
  • Precipitation: Around 4–6 inches per month.
